AGONY IN THE GARDEN
In a spirit of prayer we reflect how our Lord Jesus was so afflicted for us in the Garden of Gethsemane, that His body was bathed in a bloody sweat, which ran trickling down to the ground in great drops. This scene gives us strength and the courage to strain our wills to accept even great suffering when the suffering is willed or permitted by God.

Człowiek uważający siebie za "mądrego i roztropnego" polega tylko na sobie, wszystko sam wie najlepiej. Nigdy nie poczuje się Synem i nie pokocha Ojca, ponieważ Go nie potrzebuje. Tymczasem człowiek "prosty i słaby" czuje ogromną potrzebę więzi z Ojcem, tylko w Jego miłości może się rozwinąć i przezwyciężyć swoje słabości.
SCOURGING AT THE PILLAR
This mystery recalls to our minds the merciless lashing of the immaculate and holy body of Jesus. How Jesus was cruelly scourged in Pilate’s house, that he was weakened to the point of complete exhaustion. The prayer of this mystery then, we will ask of the Lord the gift of purity for the family, for society and especially young people since they are most exposed to the seduction of the sense.

Czy rzeczywiście Bóg i Jego sprawy są dla mnie na pierwszym miejscu? Jako ludzie wierzący chętnie tak deklarujemy, ale prawdziwość tego twierdzenia wydaje nasze życie, nasze praktyczne wybory, decyzje, hierarchia wartości, którymi kierujemy się na codzień. CROWNING OF THORNS
Reflection of this mystery is especially concerned with those who bear the burdensome responsibility of the direction of social life; it is the mystery of those who govern, who make laws, who judge. On the head of this King, there is a crown of thorns, which represent an authority that comes from God and is therefore divine. These ministries should be carried out patiently, resisting all temptations of pride, selfishness, and of disintegration which is destructive.
CIERNIEM UKORONOWANIE PANA JEZUSA
Nasza egzystencja zawieszona jest pomiędzy sekundami, godzinami, latami. Ale obiektywny wpływ czasu nie odpowiada subiektywnemu odczuciu. Radość trwa zawsze krótko, a cierpienia i lęk się dłużą w nieskończoność. Tym bardziej w działaniu Boga nie można liczyć upływu czasu na pomoc ludzkiej miary. W obliczu Bożego Miłosierdzia czas płynie inaczej, gdyż dla Boga nigdy nie jest za późno!
CARRYING OF THE CROSS
By contemplating Christ as He climbs up Calvary, we learn more through the heart then the mind - to embrace and to kiss the cross, to carry it with joy. This mystery should set before our eyes the vast
vision of those in tribulation: orphans, the aged, the sick, prisoners, the weak and refugees. For all these let us ask for strength and the consolation that only hope can give. Let us hail the cross our only hope.
DROGA KRZYŻOWA
Łatwo jest wpaść w pułapkę wiecznego niezadowolenia. Osoby pełne podejrzliwości i niechęci gotowe są pod byle pretekstem odrzucić każdy nowy pomysł, nie angażować się w żadne przedsięwzięcia. Wtedy duchowe lenistwo odbiera ochotę do życia do działania nie tylko im samym, ale także innym. Ulegając takiej postawie musimy pamiętać, że w ten sposób możemy przegapić bądź zniszczyć to co najważniejsze.
CRUCIFIXION
In this mystery we see those who will never acknowledge the blood which has been poured forth for them by the Son of God. It is the mystery especially of obstinate sinners, of unbelievers, of those who receive and then regret the light of the Gospel. We beg wholeheartedly that the precious blood poured out for all men may at long last bring salvation and conversion to all men and that the blood of Christ may be to all the pledge and promise of eternal life.
UKRZYŻOWANIE I ŚMIERĆ JEZUSA NA KRZYŻU
Istota grzechu polega na nieufności względem Boga, która owocuje odwróceniem się od Niego i bałwochwalczym oddawaniem czci komuś lub czemuś innemu. Jezus odpuszcza nam nie tylko poszczególne, jednostkowe grzechy, ale przede wszystkim pragnie wyrwać z nas sam korzeń grzechu. To właśnie wiara w miłość Boga, a nie chwilowy naiwny sentymentalizm, czy zachwyt – ma stać się fundamentem naszego całego życia.
