Anything without heart, anything without love - and I mean politics, music, law, art, even religion - anything without love, no matter how brilliant, is finally inadequate and weak. At the end of the day, the human soul yearns to be loved, and to love in return.  And it won't settle for anything less.

God loves us so deeply that he sent his only son to live, suffer, die and rise again for our salvation. That's the message of Easter. The message of Pentecost - the "birthday of the Church" that we celebrate this Sunday - builds on Easter.

In sending his Holy Spirit to the Apostles in the upper room, God invites each of us to join him in a passion for evangelizing the world. We are Christ's witnesses. Our mission is to respond to the fire of God's love. But desire alone won't remake the world. So how do we accomplish the work God sets before us?

First, we need to wake up, shake off the cocoon of the world's narcotic noise, and recover our clarity about right and wrong. We do this by praying, and we need to pray every day. Praying, no matter how unfocused we might be at first, clears the head and the heart. It also clears the ears, so we can hear God's quiet voice.

Setting aside some silent time with God each day plants the first seed of sanity. It sends down deep roots, and the soul grows a little stronger every day. If we listen well enough and long enough, God will tell us what he wants uniquely from each of us.

Znam taki ręce, które zawsze błogosławią, znam takie oczy, które śmieją się, gdy ktoś jest w pobliżu, płaczą, kiedy nikt nie widzi. Znam takie serce, które nigdy nie przestaje kochać, a choć zbolałe, zawsze przebacza. To ręce, oczy i serce MATKI. Wszystko, co posiadamy najcenniejszego w naszej osobowości, zawdzięczamy właśnie Jej. Matka pierwsza nas przyjęła otwartym sercem i całkowicie zaakceptowała. Taka jest matka, która zasłania przed dzieckiem negatywne strony życia: bóle, braki, niewygody. A odsłania natomiast, to co najpiękniejsze w życiu...

Dzisiaj 12 maja - jak zawsze w drugą niedzielę miesiąca maja celebrujemy w USA Dzień Matki. Już wczoraj dzieci i młodzież z Polskiej Szkoły działającej przy Sanktuarium w Doylestown dziękowała swoim mamom za dar ich życia i powołania składajac życzenia, obdarowujac kwiatami, przy stole zastawionym słodkościami.

Dzisiaj jak co roku celebrowaliśmy uroczystą Eucharystię w ich intencjach. W czasie homilii podczas Mszy Świętej o godz. 12:30 przez posługę O. Dominika usłyszeliśmy: „W dzisiejszych czasach ta wdzięczność i szacunek nabierają jeszcze większego znaczenia, bo są świadectwem, jak ważną i niezastąpioną wartością jest macierzyństwo.

Polska Szkoła z Amerykańskiej Częstochowy w ostatnim czasie uczestniczyła w wielu niezwykle ciekawych i ważnych wydarzeniach.

W naszym Sanktuarium mieliśmy zaszczyt gościć relikwie Błogosławionego Jana Pawła II.

Z tej też okazji wspólnie z dziećmi, nauczycielami i rodzicami z Polskiej Szkoły modliliśmy się za wstawiennictwem błogosławionego. Tak jak za swego życia tak i po przejściu do Domu Ojca Jan Paweł II gromadzi wokół siebie młode, rozentuzjazmowane serca dzieci.

To John and Mary Jo, Sister Jane, Ellen and Pat and Bishop McFadden's large and loving extended family, to the Cardinals, to the Archbishops, to his brother bishops, to the priests, deacons, religious and the people of God of the Diocese of Harrisburg and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, we offer you our prayers and sympathy as we celebrate this Solemn Funeral Mass for the soul of Bishop McFadden and for the people he has served.

The Gospel of John brings to us this morning the story of the raising of Lazarus. Jesus tells Martha: “Your brother will rise…I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”

The objective truth of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and of eternal life in Jesus is what we celebrate in this Funeral Mass and it is what animated and guided the life and ministry of Bishop Joseph McFadden.
