On Sunday May 13^th, 2012 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA we celebrated Mother’s Day in a two-fold way. The first on the night before with a Mother’s Day banquet and ball, and on Sunday as a day of prayer for all Mothers. The Mother’s Day Banquet was organized thanks to the help of the numerous volunteers of the Shrine. The selfless commitment to the development of the Shrine should be noted that about 200 people came to the ball to rejoice and enjoy one other’s company. The musical setting was provided by TOP DANCE.

On Sunday, the day of our Lord, we celebrated Solemn Holy Mass in English at 11am, at which Fr. Tomasz Wilk OSPPE presided over, and at 12:30pm in Polish at which Fr. Jerzy (George) Maj OSPPE, Prior of the Monastery presided over. Both preachers in their homilies underlined a very important point in the Gospel passage of the day – the theme of LOVE. God’s love is not a selfish-type of love, and it is this love of commitment that He asks of us as well – to share the graces that we receive from our Heavenly Father. This sharing of love describes the image of a mother, who, in all that she is, gives to her children everything that she has.  A mother teaches her children the most fundamental basics of our faith. In her eyes, we gaze “upon God for the first time in our lives”. She stands for us as the first image of God. The love that God gives to us humans adds strength in our lives, so that in the example of the Apostles we are able to spread the Good News of Salvation to our families, schools, and work environments.

W niedzielę 13 maja w Sanktuarium Matki Bożej w Doylestown obchodziliśmy Dzień Matki poprzedzony balem z tej okazji, jaki odbył się dzięki wolontariuszom działającym przy Sanktuarium, którzy w ten sposób wspierają w zewnętrznym wymiarze to święte miejsce. To bezinteresowne zaangażowanie w rozwój Sanktuarium należy zauważyć, tym bardziej że na ten bal przybyło około 200 osób, które przy oprawie muzycznej zespołu TOP DANCE mogli razem się radować i cieszyć swoją obecnością.

Niedziela, Dzień Pański to już wewnętrzny wymiar przeżywania Dnia Matki. Uroczyste Msze Święte w języku angielskim o godz. 11:00 AM, której przewodniczył O. Tomasz Wilk oraz w języku polskim o godz. 12:30 PM, której przewodniczył przeor Amerykańskiej Częstochowy O. Jerzy Maj. Obaj kaznodzieje w swoim homiliach podkreślali wartość miłości, o której Jezus Chrystus mówił w Ewangelii na VI Niedzielę Wielkanocną. Jak zaznaczyli podczas homilii, miłość Boża jest bezinteresowna i tego samego domaga się ta miłość od nas, byśmy umieli dzielić się łaską Bożą, którą otrzymujemy od Najlepszego Ojca w niebie. To dzielenie się miłością odzwierciedla się w postawie matek, które całą swoją osobą dają dzieciom wszystko, co najlepsze, a przede wszystkim trwając w tym kościele domowym, przekazują wiarę, jakże dzisiaj spychaną na margines w życiu rodziny. Miłość, którą daje Bóg człowiekowi dodaje odwagi, by na wzór Apostołów przepowiadać dobrą nowinę o zbawieniu w rodzinie i społeczności w jakiej każdy z nas dojrzewa jako chrześcijanin.
